Ambassadors appointed in Uganda and Cameroon

CWB has appointed its first ever Ambassadors in Uganda and Cameroon.

Isaneez Emmanuel (Uganda) and Winston Mukum (Cameroon) - who are both full internationals - will become the charity’s first paid local coaches in their respective countries.

Based in Yaoundé Winston combines his passion for cricket with studying for an economics degree.

As an accomplished cricket player and coach, Winston has represented Cameroon as a cricketer at Under 15, 17 and senior level. He has worked with CWB on two projects in 2012 and 2014.

CWB’s Cameroon Country Manager Jo Clarke said: “We welcome Winston to the CWB family as an ambassador and the Cameroon team look forward to working with him to develop the game across many new schools in Yaoundé.

“On the two CWB trips he was part of he greeted every coaching session with enthusiasm, knowledge and bundles of energy.”

Working in collaboration with the Cameroon Cricket Federation, the schedule for Winston’s new role is likely to involve around six schools across Yaoundé and will involve a mixture of curricular and extra-curricular cricket sessions.

Coach Education is also a key area where Winston will be able to support and grow the enthusiasm of local teachers across the capital.

Uganda Ambassador Isaneez Emmanuel has represented Uganda at Under 19 and full international level playing in the U19 World Cups in 2004 and 2006 and the ICC Trophy in Ireland in 2005.

As a level two coach he has worked in a range of settings and has been on a number of CWB trips. He has also been working as assistant coach to the Uganda U19s and has supported a number of schools that have reached both regional and national finals in recent years including St James Secondary School and Mwiri College.

Isaneez and Winston join a growing number of CWB Coaching Ambassadors that include Nicholas Oluoch in Kenya and ‘Tall’ Eric, Audifax Byiringiro and Mary in Rwanda.
