Uganda 2008
In 2008 CWB returned to Uganda with 6 coaches (Peter Carey, John Morton, Chris Heron, Kim Osborne, Aqeel Janjua and Richard Davies*). The team started in Kampala, where they spent several days helping to coach, manage and run a girls tournament with the final culminating on World AIDS day. The team then moved 80km to the East to Jinja where 2 days were spent training the next generation of cricket coaches and the rest of the week working with 50 children helping them with basic cricket skills mixed with HIV/AIDS awareness messages. The adults that we have trained will be running Saturday training sessions as a result of our visit. In 2009 we shall return and given continued support to these new coaches, as well as a train a whole new generation of adults coaches. We would like to thank the Uganda Cricket Association for their help and hospitality.
