The project saw us delivering important messages about the dangers of FGM in schools and community projects. We delivered training to doctors and nurses on how to support women who had been cut. We supported local community projects in their work to support survivors and girls at risk of being cut. Importantly we got the agreement of the Maasai Chief to support the Maasai Cricket Warriors in their bid to end FGM.
This summer we are heading back out to Kenya to continue to support the Maasai Cricket Warriors, as they continue to spread the message to #endFGM. This time we are joined by the Lancashire Cricket Foundation who are seeking to do a similar training program in the schools and communities around the Manchester area, with girls who maybe at risk of FGM from within their community in the UK.
