
CWB Partner wins ICC Award
CWB are delighted to announce that close friend and partner Aliya Bauer, of Cricket Kenya, has been honoured with the Volunteer of the Year Award for her dedicated work alongside the Maasai Cricket Warriors in 2011 at the Pepsi ICC Develpoment Programme Annual Awards.
Aliya’s outstanding contribution in bringing the game to Massai people has been aided by supportfrom CWB as Aliya said:
“CWB's continued support in visiting the greater Maasai Cricket development project throughconducting coaching clinics and providing coach education and HIV/AIDS Awareness has been thebackbone to the success of the development and progress that we have managed to achieve in Maasailand.
All the generous support through CWB's donations of cricket equipment and cricketresources has ensure that the game has managed to continue growing in the areas visited by CWBand this has left a lasting impact on hundreds of children. Cricket is now unrivaled as the fastestgrowing sport in Northern Maasailand and more warriors are putting down their spears andshields in exchange for bat and ball. We are indebted to CWB and look forward to a long standingpartnership that will allow us to build a valuable innings which will ensure that we can leave a markat the wicket!”
