
CWB to begin work in Cameroon
In a really exciting development Cricket Without Boundaries will deliver its first project to Cameroon in November 2012.
Cameroon has a solid foundation in terms of its Cricket development and are now keen to harness the unique way CWB tackles HIV and Aids awareness.
Victor Agbor Nso, CEO/President of Cameroon Cricket Federation said, "It's with great joy & enthusiasm that we received the news of this possible and very exciting partnership with CWB. This partnership will not only have the great effect of combatting HIV/AIDS and suffering but will go a long way in furthering Cricket Development strategies in Cameroon. We at the Cameroon Cricket Federation are just excited about this"
With the support of 3 full time members of staff and 8 part time coaches/ development officers across the country, cricket is already being delivered in many secondary schools in the Yaunde, Buea, Bamenda, Doual, Limbe areas. The challenge now is to spread the development in Primary Schools and to train adults to coach the game.
Cameroon Country Manager Jo North Clarke commented; "CWB are looking forward to a long fruitful partnership with Cameroon Cricket Federation. The partnership is based on mutual aims and we have already started with the planning of November's first trip which will see a mixture of coach education with local school teachers in Yaunde and Buea which will incorporate HIV/AIDS awareness messages, this will be followed by school coaching sessions with local primary and secondary children culminating in a schools cricket festival.
