CWB Chosen as Charity of the Year
CWB are delighted to announce that we have been chosen as the Charity of the year by two organisations.
North Nibley Cricket Club, situated on the edge of the Cotswolds, have chosen CWB to raise funds for projects in Africa. Andy Kinnear said "As a club we were looking for a way in which we could partner with clubs in the developing world. During this search I came across the work of CWB and was immediately struck by the real difference they are making in Africa. There is a lot of enthusiasm to support CWB in our club, and we are looking forward to get started with our fundraising efforts". It is also hoped that members of the club will volunteer on future volunteer projects.
A little further south in Wells, Somerset Mayor Theo Butt-Philip has chosen CWB as one of his good causes to support during his term in office. At his Mayor Making Ceremony Theo said "I have decided this year to support two charities; One that deals with the increasingly difficult problem of homelessness, the Mendip YMCA and Cricket Without Boundaries, which is an organisation set up to prevent the spread of HIV in Africa." There will be various fundraising events in Wells throughout the year.
CWB Charity Executive Hannah Weaver said "We are very pleased that North Nibley and The Mayor of Wells have decided to fundraise for us in this way. In the current financial climate we are always stunned by people's generosity to our cause. All money raised will go directly to our on-going work in Africa."
