Wrapped in a blue kikohi
One of the things that most CWB volunteers experience is the inevitable obsession with Africa and the countries that they visited.
In the case of our long serving volunteer Veronika Reeves this obsession produced her debut novel Wrapped in a blue kikohi.
The story of young Sarah is based on the heartbreaking experiences of a Ugandan orphan that Veronika met on one of the CWB projects. She tells us how she lost her parents in the war torn north of the country and how she managed to find hope and life in spite of being sold for prostitution, raped and infected with HIV.
This is just a snapshot of the life stories that volunteers come to know and re-tell after an eye opening trip to Africa.
