Help start a new cricketing journey
Talent is equally distributed; opportunity is not. Volunteer with Cricket Without Boundaries (CWB) to help disadvantaged young people start their cricketing journey while also using the sport as a platform for positive social change.
As testament of our work so far, 9 of the 15 girls in the Rwanda Under 19 National Cricket team squad currently playing in the World Cup started their cricketing journey with CWB. Young coaches in Kenya and Uganda are earning a living through CWB projects funded by our partners at MCC Foundation. Our work with refugees in Jordan, Lebanon and Rwanda has seen young people from the most disadvantaged backgrounds have the opportunity to play and coach. Hundreds more enjoy the physical, social and mental health benefits of playing cricket weekly in their community through CWB.
Our projects last up to two weeks and each trip is made up of a team of 8-10 volunteers, with a mix of coaches and non-coaches to ensure a good spread of skills. We provide full training and support and our annual projects run in the Spring and Autumn so there are plenty of opportunities for you to get involved.
By volunteering the difference you can make is surprisingly big! For some children we visit, simply having the chance to play an organised game is a thrill but equally you can make a fundamental difference to a community through spreading positive HIV awareness messages, signposting to relevant support or breaking down harmful gender norms through the coaching. Not only will you be able to make a huge difference in the country; you will also find that you will pick up life skills and tangible professional skills through volunteering.
Every one of our volunteers has an experience that stays with them forever. Whether it's sports, health, cricket or simply making a difference to the lives of thousands of young people, volunteering with Cricket Without Boundaries could be for you.
